Adding a Host Profile

Before you can use FTP to connect to a host computer, you must provide information about that host by creating a profile.

To add a host to your current configuration:

  1. Choose the Communication>Setup menu command.

  2. Choose the Add button to display the Add FTP Host dialog box.

  3. Enter a name for the host that is meaningful to you.

  4. Click OK. The Communication Setup dialog box appears (if it is not already displayed) with the host profile name added to the list.

  5. Click the Settings tab.

  6. Enter your email address in the field provided.

Note: If you do not enter an email address on the Settings tab, you will have to enter your email address manually in the Password field on the Profiles tab if you select the Anonymous option (step 8).

  7. Click the Profiles tab.

  8. Enter information to define the FTP host. See Communication Setup for specific information on the fields and buttons of this dialog box.

  9. Click OK to add the host to the Profile, Cancel if you have decided not to add this host to the list or Connect to test the host connection.
