The following options can be customized for stream mode terminal emulation types (VT, SCO ANSI, Wyse 60).
Copy Mode
This option affects the way text is copied to the Windows clipboard. This
affects how the Edit > Copy menu command
operates.
Data with no formatting
Provides no formatting for the copied text. This is useful for text
that will be pasted into the emulation screen as command line data.
Lines with terminators
(Default)
Copies each individual line of text and includes a carriage return
and line feed at the end of each line.
Paragraph format
for word processing
Copies the selected area of text and retains paragraph formatting attributes.
Selecting this option will insert a space at the end of each line
to prevent words from running together. A carriage return and line
feed will be added before blank lines.
Tabular format for
spreadsheets
Copies the selected area of text and separates into rows and columns.
Two or more consecutive blank spaces between words are converted to
a single tab. Tabs are typically interpreted by spreadsheets and word
processor tables as cell separators. Single spaces between words remain
when a copy is performed, unless immediately followed by a numeric
character (number 0 through 9, +, - or .)
Selection Mode
Select one of the following to determine how text selection is performed:
Block Mode or Line
Mode. Block mode is similar to selecting text in a spread sheet,
whereas line mode is similar to selecting text in a text document.
Show Selection as
Select one of the following to determine how text selection is displayed
on the screen: Dotted Rectangle
(default) or Reverse Video.
Automatically copy selected area and
Choose the desired behavior from the drop down listbox: Clear
selection or Keep selection.
When enabled, this option provides the ability to automatically copy the
selected text into the Windows clipboard. You do not have to choose the
Edit > Copy command after you select the text. Copying is automatic.
You choose to keep or to clear the selection box after the text has been
selected.
Note: The automatic copying of text only works when text is selected using the mouse and not the keyboard. This feature is not available when using "Select All" or using keyboard commands to select text.
Allow text to be dragged and dropped
If this option is selected, you can drag and drop text to copy it. This
option is selected by default.
BIFF (Binary Interchange File Format)
If enabled, when data is copied to the clipboard, Passport will put BIFF
formatted text into the clipboard on top of the text format. When you
paste data into Excel, it will use BIFF data format by default providing
that there is BIFF data in the clipboard. This option is selected by default.
Paste delay(msec)
This feature is used to solve the problem where characters are getting
dropped when pasting text into the host screen. If enabled, Passport sends
one character to the host and waits for the number of milliseconds that
are entered in the Paste Delay (ms) field, and then sends the next one.
If the 'By line' field is checked, Passport sends all characters in a
line to the host and waits for the number of milliseconds that are entered
in the Paste Delay (ms) field, and then sends the next line.
Save As
Allows you to save the current custom edit settings in a separate edit
scheme file.
OK
Saves the current custom edit settings into the appropriate location. If
Default or Custom is selected in Options
> Edit then the settings will be saved to the session profile.
If External File is selected in Options
> Edit then the settings will be saved to the currently selected
external edit scheme file.
