The scratch pad is a handy window that can be used to store text that can copied and pasted repeatedly in your host session.
To open the scratch pad, choose View > Scratch Pad from the PASSPORT menu bar. To close the scratch pad, choose View > Scratch Pad again. As an option, the scratch pad can be closed by clicking the X on the scratch pad menu bar.
Scratch Pad Menu bar
The scratch pad can be "pinned" or "unpinned" to the PASSPORT display session by clicking the push pin icon located on the scratch pad menu bar. When pinned, the scratch pad can be opened by mousing over the Scratch Pad menu bar.
In addition, the scratch pad can be detached and docked to the top, bottom or sides of the session window, or it can be detached and placed completely outside the session window.
This is accomplished by using the left mouse pointer to grab the scratch pad menu bar and dragging the scratch pad to the desired location.
Also, the width or height of the scratch pad can be adjusted by left clicking on the grab bar using the mouse pointer and dragging to the desired width or height. If the scratch pad is docked to the top or bottom of the display session, you can adjust the height of the scratch pad. If the scratch pad is docked to the left or right side of the display session, you can adjust the width of the scratch pad. If the scratch pad is docked completely outside the display session, you can adjust both the height and width of the scratch pad.
PASSPORT will remember the state (open or closed) and location of the scratch pad (but not the contents) when you save the display session. If you want to save the contents of the scratch pad, you must save it to a file using the Save As icon on the scratch pad toolbar.
