QuickStart Instructions for Rocket PASSPORT WEB TO HOST with Microsoft IIS
1. Check your system requirements
Before installing PASSPORT WEB TO HOST, make sure that your web server meets the following system requirements. If these requirements are not met, you may have unpredictable results.
- TCP/IP connection to the host
- Windows 2016/2012/2008 server with IIS installed (with the latest service packs applied)
- Microsoft .NET Framework installed
- ASP.NET installed and enabled
2. Installing PASSPORT WEB TO HOST
It is strongly recommended that you exit all Windows programs before running the Windows Installer Package.
PASSPORT requires about 37 MB of disk space.
- To begin the installation, double click on the downloaded MSI/EXE package or insert the CD, the setup program
will start upon inserting the CD. If Autorun is disabled on your PC, double-click on the MSI file to begin.
- Enter the license code in the required field. This code is given to you by Rocket Software at downloading
time or on the sleeve of your CD. You must have a valid license code in order to proceed with the installation.
Note: If a license code was emailed to you from Rocket Software, it is recommended that you copy and paste it into the License Code field to avoid typing errors. You may leave the license code blank to install a 30-day trial version.
- Choose the website and name for the virtual directories to use. If you only have one website installed on your IIS server, select "1" for the website. If you have multiple websites running on your IIS server, you must enter the appropriate number for the website. The default virtual directory for launching a PASSPORT WEB TO HOST session (Client website) is pec and the default virtual directory for the administrator program (Administrator website) is pecadmin.
http://YourWebSite/pec/ is the website your users will connect to when launching a PASSPORT WEB TO HOST session.
http://YourWebSite/pecadmin/ is the website you will connect to when running the PASSPORT Administrator program.
- Choose the directory where you would like to install PASSPORT. If you wish to change the installation directory, click the Browse button, which will allow you to select another directory. Note: If the Setup program detects a previously installed version of PASSPORT, it will prompt you to overwrite your existing installation. If the same version is detected, you will be prompted to remove or repair the application.
C:\Program Files\PASSPORT eClient Admin\ is the default folder where PASSPORT is installed.
- Click Next to begin the installation.
3. Configure the PASSPORT WEB TO HOST file types (for Windows 2003 running IIS 6 ONLY)
Start the Internet Information Services (IIS) Management Console.
- Right-click the website where the PASSPORT virtual directories (pec and pecadmin) are located and choose Properties from the pop-up menu.
- Select the HTTP Headers tab, then click the Mime Types button to display the Mime Types dialog box.
- Click the New button, then enter the following:
Extension: zwm
Mime Type: application/octet-stream
- Repeat the previous step and enter the following:
Extension: zwh
Mime Type: application/octet-stream
- Click OK to save, then OK again to close the website Properties page.
- Select the Web Service Extensions folder to display the list of available extensions.
- Right-click Active Server Pages, and then choose Allow from the pop-up menu.
4. Start the PASSPORT WEB TO HOST Administrator website
Start Internet Explorer and type in the URL http://YourWebSite/pecadmin or use the Start->Programs->PASSPORT WEB TO HOST Admin->Administrator. This starts PASSPORT Administrator website. There are four sections: Configure, Deploy, Support and Documentation. Each section provides pertinent information to help you quickly complete the installation and configuration.
